Can you recommend resources for those of us who are new at this?

Hi everyone. I'd like to find some workbooks or online classes for my DD whose school is closed for the duration. She has always felt that her school didn't do a very good job teaching grammar so I'd like to start there but would love suggestions for any subject. She is (or was) in 8th grade and I'd love to find something good for that age or for 9th grade so she'll be better prepared. It's overwhelming to start from scratch and hard to tell which resources are good quality, the right difficulty level, and are engaging.

Appreciate any help you can offer!

If you are looking for proper grammar lessons, Saxon Grammar may be for you. My daughter finished the fourth-grade lesson book and found it challenging but enjoyable. I like the curriculum because it enforces previous lessons. The writing lessons are also top-notch. https://www.rainbowresource.com/category/6746/Saxon-Grammar--and--Writing.html

OP - what else are you looking for? (I agree that Saxon grammar is a good choice.) Tell us the subjects or topics that your daughter enjoys, and then we can be helpful.

Try The Giggly Guide to Grammar. We loved it at a similar age!
