Are you interested in being closer to home?

My DD recently got an email from a college she declined admission for last year (she is a freshman now). They offered to help her transfer so she could be closer to home in these uncertain times. I give them points for creativity. I am guessing not many will make any moves now but if the country sees lots of opening and closings over the course of next year that might change.

DS got a similar email.

What school?

Don't worry, it was a school DCUM mocks. But we visited before DS applied and liked it.

DS ultimately chose a school further away and isn't interested in changing.

That’s too bad that DCUM mocks schools. But it is also kinda not good that you care what ransoms think. Tbh, my kid is going to a lesser-known instate school over a well known SLAC.

Why? The small instate wants my DC and Offered an almost full tuition scholarship, has the intended major, has 2 special programs that DC can partake in, and with that money saved/not taken out in loans, my DC could buy a condo after graduation for the same as 4 years at the SLAC. And the SLAC offered a scholarship, as well, but the room and board was astronomical.

Folks, unless you’ve completely funded your retirement, don’t go into 6 figures of debt. And don’t let your kids/young adults take on 6 figures of debt.
