Children in the Shoe -- owner zoom calls

Anonymous
Over the last couple of days, the owner did a couple of zoom calls with the parents. I wanted to be able to attend one, but couldn't due to working and watching the kids.

Can anyone report back what he said? Could you get a sense of what parents are planning on doing re tuition? I am not sure how his previous letter indicating he was laying off staff because they would be better off given the unemployment increase affects what we plan to do.

Maryland unemployment (about 50%) plus stimulus is more than teachers earn normally, and the Shoe is still paying employer contribution of health insurance, so teachers are better off.

Thanks. I wasn’t trying to suggest that a furlough wasn’t better for the employees.

Other than laying that out, were there other things discussed?

It’s actually not better as these checks take weeks to receive even though the process has been streamlined.

If you don’t keep your spot it is gone.

Do we have to pay to keep our spot?
