Anyone know what requirements international orgs are placing on employees returning from W. Africa?

My understanding is that IMF has cancelled their travel to W Africa.

Supposedly starting Monday, all travelers from W. Africa must give contact info and report temps 2x a day. Doesn't stop them frm taking a cab or metro though. Or going bowling. Sheesh.

@DanScavino: Patient w/ #Ebola in #NYC
did use the subways, used a cab (Uber), & went bowling last night. How about letting us know what subway!? ASAP?

He was supposed to be self quarantining. He lied

When can we start holding these people criminally liable for their stupidity and selfishness? He was an effng Ebola doctor!! He KNEW better!

Yeah. The CNN article states that he had been feeling "sluggish" for a few days. So, a doctor, who has just returned from treating ebola patties and knows better than anyone how the disease is spread, starts feeling under the weather and thinks "Oh, bowling is a great idea!" Was he bring selfish, is he stupid, or was he completely in denial? I don't really see any other options.

Or, he knows a lot about the disease and knows that when they say that people must be "symptomatic" to shed the virus, they mean measurable symptoms like fever or diarrhea which he didn't have last night.

Yeah, that's why CDC officials are scrambling all over the city looking for contacts.

For sure. I am furious with this idiot right now. How selfish can you be? Sure glad he didn't miss bowling!

From the NYTimes:
"A health care worker at the hospital said that Dr. Spencer seemed very sick, and it was unclear to the medical staff why he had not gone to the hospital earlier, since his fever was high."

Sounds like he should have checked himself in yesterday or the day before. Apparently his temp was already 103 when he checked in.

It seems like he was in denial about the risks. I wonder if you have to have a bit of feeling of invincibility/ego to have to courage to volunteer to be a doctor in West Africa. It's almost like their strengths could be their weaknesses in terms of a self-quarantine (e.g. I am different/too careful/too good, etc., it won't happen to me.)

All the more reason for mandatory quarantines and travel bans. No brainer
