Temple Micah Relgious School

Does anyone have children that attend Sunday School at Temple Micah in DC? Can you comment on whether you've had a positive experience. Also, what are the religious school fees (they're not listed on the Temple's website)? Thanks.

As with a lot of things at Temple Micah, it's an enthusiastic work in progress. The music is great, and there is a real attempt to include the family (and that means the non-Jewish parent, too, often). Some weeks work better than others. Most weeks it's open to anybody - just call or go.

Hi. As a Temple Micah parent, I am laughing at the description of an enthusiastic work in progress because I think it is a pretty good description. I have been there a while and the changes under the new director have been great, and we are very happy there. The new Hebrew program where each child gets individual Skype tutoring every week has been a fabulous innovation. I don't remember what the fees are exactly because I sort of mix it up with my dues. FYI, if you want to try the religious school before you commit to membership, you can pay the cost of religious school and attend as a non-member if there is space. Definitely check it out and see if it has the right vibe for your family. I would call Deborah Srabstein, the education director and you can come by and see the school in action on a Sunday morning.

Hope to see you there.
