Research purposes only- what is the range of hourly pay for a daycare assistant? Does it vary at an in-home daycare vs. center? |
Minimum wage. |
Min wage at centers.
In-home it depends on their relationship with the business and the owner. |
$8-$12/hr in the dc area |
That’s illegal due to minimum wage laws. You’re incorrect. |
I think ours make about 32,000/year.
14-15/hr. |
minimum wage in va is 7.25/hour |
Minimum wage. |
Center director in DC, non-profit: our assistants make between $17-18/hour. |
Depends where you are. One center offered 14.50 another one offered 18.50. |
My in-home daycare in Fairfax VA pays them $11 - $12 per hour. |
Depends on what other benefits the center is providing, how much they pitch in towards medical insurance premiums, how much paid vacation they offer, etc. |
Good point about benefits, PP. We offer health insurance (employee contributes 10%), small life insurance policy, 5% no match necessary retirement contribution, 3 weeks annual leave, 2 1/2 weeks sick leave. It's still not nearly enough to compensate the hard work they do each day. |
$13/hr |
There's a big difference between lead teacher to assistant. $10-$28 in our school. |
