teachers calls on top of class sessions

| my daughter is 5 and she is not interested in long phone calls in general - and especially not now when they are already taking via zoom or phone to grandparents, their friends, etc. - it is just becoming too much. how do I explain to preschool politely that one zoom lesson a day is enough... it is too much! I want her to play with her siblings indoors and outdoors. be relaxed. not spend half a day on zoom or phone... please share your experience... |

| You can opt out of whatever you want. I teach 2.5 year olds, so we only zoom twice a week because it’s mostly just to maintain the connection and not for educational lessons. Most parents don’t show up twice a week and a few don’t come at all. It’s totally fine. Everything I am offering and planning is just meant to be helpful. |

| I wouldn’t want instructional class lessons either - just talking and seeing everyone for 15 min or so. It is hard for little kids. How they don't get that. |

| Ours does Zoom every day for 15 minutes, but not everyone participates. This morning it was only about 5 kids. |

| It’s preschool, not high school. Why are you doing these at all if it doesn’t suit your family? Isn’t your child moving on to elementary school next year anyway? |

| I teach one year olds at a center that is closed and still charging. I have created a blog, book videos, zoom sessions, daily activity emails, personal phone calls, and have been asked by my director to increase my online content so parents won’t ask to stop paying. It’s an impossible task, especially for one year olds. |

| You are missing the point. It us not optional as we can’t hang up or not answer. They should make themselves available and share numbers, but not be calling. |
