"Mike Gula, a veteran Republican fund-raiser whose firm has been paid more than $36 million since 2008 by a range of top Republican politicians and political committees, sent an email on Thursday to clients announcing that he was leaving political fund-raising to focus his “full attention” on “another business outside politics.”

That business is a newly incorporated firm called Blue Flame Medical that boasts on its website that it has assembled an array of “hard-to-find medical supplies to beat the outbreak,” including respirator & surgical masks, coronavirus test kits “and a wide selection” of personal protective equipment."

You are full of it. The Republicans are much worse. McConnell is in a league of his own. He literally does nothing that is not corrupt. Pelosi and Schumer actually have national interests at heart, but they know what compromises are needed to get a bill that can pass the House and also get 60 votes in the Senate.

I worked in Congress, and figured out quickly that it really is not possible to enact anything for people in need without also subsidizing corporate interests. The Members of Congress who are not bought by corporate interests are too frightened to cross them, so bills don't even come to a vote on the House or Senate floor until the deep-pocketed influential interest groups sign off on them.
