Is everyone getting their kids roller skates or by passing this since it's not as popular? |
if you are trying tro avoid emergency rooms, this doesn't seem like a timely new fun activity |
Not necessarily a buy right now but wondering in general if everyone still is getting their kids roller skates like when we were younger? |
My kids have been out rollerblading pretty much every day since this virus hit. It's something fun they can do outside together. Tell them to learn on flat surface like parking lot/tennis court. If that's available. |
If you live in a flat area, go for it! We live on a sloped lot (sloped driveway) on a sloped street. So, not conducive to rollerblading/skating for newbies.
Oh my gosh, though, I spent hours rollerskating in my parents' basement when I was a kid. If you have an unfinished flat basement, that would be heaven. |
I bought my daughter those Fisher-Price ones that you wear over your shoes when she was three. She's nine now and has gone from those to regular roller skates to roller blades a few years ago. She only wants to go out in them once every couple of months. She prefers her scooter and bike to roller blading. |
I guess your kids don't ride bikes or skateboards either. No climbing for your kids I suspect. Skates are fine, although not all that popular in my neighborhood. Make sure to buy the right protective gear. Add some hockey sticks and balls (tennis ball size, but much harder) and you could have a great game of deck hockey. |
We just got some for our 6 and 8-year-olds. The 8-year-old in particular has been loving it. Pad them up, put the helmets on and let them go at it in an empty parking lot. We’ve been practicing for almost two weeks now with no casualties. |
