Bose Wave with Soundlink?

I am looking at getting a BIG present for my dad. He loves music, has a bunch on CDs and Itunes and likes the radio too, so I was considering getting him the Bose Wave system with soundlink. In researching it, I find that a lot of people say that the sound quality of Bose isn't all that and that the soundlink system can interfere with wireless networks, so now I am confused!

My questions are:

1) How is Bose sound quality?
2) What system do you recommend?
3) Is it worth it to get him a system where he can use his ipod or itunes?
4) Any other thoughts?
