Does anyone know what happened at the State Board of Education Meeting today?

Anonymous
I kept trying to listen in all day. First, they seem to have gone into a really long executive session (closed) and then I couldn't hear anything.

That was not an open meeting if the technology was such that the public could not listen in.

Anyone know what happened?

The board did end up voting to keep State Superintendent Karen Salmon at the helm. Salmon had announced she would step down in December.

When did the open session start?

The Maryland State Department of Education will ask the federal government for permission to not administer standardized tests this year, another indication that K-12 schools will remain shuttered beyond this week.

Does not bode well for distance learning when they can't even get the live stream to work for the meeting.

Lol! I can only imagine: overloaded servers, broken Chromebooks, porn, viruses, people trying to sell Chromebooks for cash, poor signals, etc. Good luck!!!
