I finally have to do something about these ever-deepening crevasses between my eye brows. Looks like I'm going to need some kind of injectable filler plus botox. Would you be able to recommend someone in the NVA area?
Thanks! |

Dr. Brooks (but he is in Georgetown). I got Botox and it is so natural that nobody every said anything about it (and it has REALLY flattened out the forehead and brow lines). Also, he puts safety first. I have a horizontal crease between the eyes and he said that a filler really wouldn't work b/c it wasn't 100% safe. I really respect that.
I am pregnant now but will go back to him as soon as I am done with the breastfeeding. He rocks. |

I've got them too and as soon as I fully wean my baby, I am interested in getting rid of them. Anyone want to share how much it costs for botoxing the brow cleft?

An honest plastic surgeon will charge by the unit. Mine charges around $14, but will give me a little "extra" as needed. Most charge $16. Only a plastic surgeon had training to do it during residency, otherwise it's just a one day course. A friend went to her eye doctor claiming that the doctor was "so familiar' with the eye area. She bruised twice - come with me last time and looks great.
I always look natural. I go to Dr. Feledy 301-654-5666 |

I would run from a doctor who charges the amounts listed above. You get what you pay for.
A vial of botox cannot be used on another person once it's been opened and used on someone else. Therefore, docs charge for the whole unit - generally around $200. |
Are you missing a zero?? |
Please read carefully -- not per vial, per UNIT. A vial contains many units, not sure how many. Although, I think a doc pays about $500 a vial (or bottle) so $200 may not be correct either. That's the lure of a Botox party, you and your friend can "share" a bottle/vial and get a better rate. |
|
$200+ is generally the going rate. I don't know of a doc who charges by the unit - only by the vial. I also would not share a vial with ANYONE and run from a doc who offered me leftovers.
As for botox parties, show me a doctor who would do that, and I'll show you a doc who does not have a good biz. It's your face - and you only have one. Don't take a risk. Go read all those news stories about women who became disfigured because they wanted to save money. |
Who would put a whole vial into their face at one time? That's a lot. |
| So if I just wanted my worry lines done, I'd have to pay for the whole vial? |
|
I Googled it.
100 units in a vial. So one poster is paying $20 per unit and is putting 100 units into her face. Another is paying $14 per unit and is putting less? How many units are needed for worry lines? |
|
I had part of my forehead done - maybe about 10 injections. Used up most of a vial.
Doctor explained that she does not use whatever is leftover on other patients and therefore charges just one price for the entire vial. My derm doctor also practices this way - price per vial. |
|
In general, most docs have a specific price per body or face part.
One thing you have to be careful of is that if you get a lower price (too good to be true), it either is not botox or it has been diluted beyond what is recommended. This means that effectiveness will be less and it will wear off sooner. |

Ok, I asked the receptionist at Dr. Feledy's practice. A "vial" of Botox is 100 units, the area betwn the eyes and forehead needs about 30ish units. A small "vial" of Restelyne(sp?) is about $250 and has a tiny amount in it, (sounded like she said, 0.X, but I'm not sure). Those are packaged and sold in various sized vials.
I think the PP that uses a whole vial of Botox is mistaken, she must mean Restylene, which is a filler (and great). |
Can I ask how much your doc charged you? Can you recommend/giver her name? |
