Has anyone been hit-on while pregnant?

DH and I had a conversation this weekend about how one of our friends' husbands seems to be sweet on me and he was upset that I didn't do anything to fend him off. Now this was all very subtle...the other husband was complementing me, mentioning how I complemented him (although in truth, I complemented the whole GROUP of people there), seemed to take special interest in me, etc. The thing is, I'm 30 weeks pregnant and look like a whale. Seriously. I've gained 20 lbs and my face looks like someone stuck a syringe full of collagan in it. I put two and two together after DH pointed all of this out, and usually I'm pretty good about deflecting other men's attentions, and felt badly, but I never would have imagined any attention in this elephantine state and my radar was way down. Has this happened to anyone else? I guess everyone has different fetishes but this is a new one for me.

While on metro a guy hit on me. I was about 24 weeks pregnant. My husband was standing next to me as I was sitting during our morning commute. The guy asked if I was married, I said "Yes" my husband is right here. It was quite funny.

I told my husband that he obviously needs to buy me a bigger ring.

I got lots of whistles from passers-by when pregnant. I think they did it to make me feel good as I waddled past, not because I ACTUALLY looked good.

Tell your DH the guy was probably just trying to make you feel better about the whalishness, not pick you up for a night of passionate pregnant sex.

I was hit on at 38 weeks when I was ENORMOUS. Like you, my radar was totally off, when I realized what was going on I was so shocked my jaw dropped and I just gaped at the guy. He actually asked me if "the father" was "stepping up" (I was wearing my wedding ring). Completely bizarre.

I'd say the fetish, as fetish, is relatively rare. More likely that the pregnant women being hit on are attractive to start with, and many guys are not turned off by pregnancy. A lot of women seem to feel like they are whales, but to a lot of guys, it is a perfectly attractive look. The larger breasts don't hurt either lol.

A friend of mine told me to expect her husband to be unusually complimentary; said he thought pregnancy was the single most attractive thing in women. For his birthday, she found a good picture of Heidi Klum bursting at the seams, and blew it up to poster size for him. If he did do/say anything when I was pregnant, though, I didn't notice.

Yup -- also on the Metro. Same guy?

Yes, me too. I was leaving work and in an elevator. I was HUGE (all belly) at 30-36 weeks or so. It was spring and had a cute -albeit enormous- dress on. Anyway, the second shift was coming to work (it is a production environment in some areas of the building so we have a lot of trades, production folks coming and going at all hours to keep things running; this guy was an electrician.)

He starts staring and then hitting on me rather directly. I was amused but could not think ANYONE would think I was attractive as big as I was!

yes, at 39 weeks. mind you, I carried small, so I only looked about 6 or 7 months pregnant. I was dropping stuff off at goodwill and this employee there said to me, "women are so sexy when they're pregnant." and he gave me a sort of lecherous look. pretty yicky.

I actually did feel sexy during my pregnancy, though. and I personally think pregnant women are gorgeous, no matter how much weight they've gained.

Yes! Joey and Ross used to hit on me all the time when I was pregnant and it drove me nuts.

Yup, at the bus stop. I was clearly and obviously pregnant and not looking particularly kempt. I was like, are you nuts? But as previous posters have speculated, some men seem to get off on it.

I wonder if some of these guys just get off on making women feel uncomfortable?

DH thinks pregnancy is so sexy! Long before I got pregnant, he used to say he couldn't wait for me to sport a belly. I think it's sweet. Maybe a little kinky, but now that I'm at 30 weeks, I'd rather that than feel like he was totaly turned off by me. I don't mind his "fetish" at all. When we're out and see a cute pregnant woman I will usually nudge him and point her out.
