Quarantine & taking your dog to the bathroom

Some comments on other threads about quarantining have me freaked out. I’m not sick or quarantined but would not be surprised if we all catch coronavirus at some point. Is it true that if you test positive and are officially quarantined you can’t even take your dog out to the bathroom?

I live in a townhouse with no fenced yard and am really worried about this. There is an article in the NYT that legitimately discusses how to train your dog to go to the bathroom in your house in the event of quarantine. WTF?

You know, if your dog didn’t use the bathroom, you don’t need to take him outside.

You can still take your dog outside when quarantined - just don't touch anything, don't go near anyone, and wear a mask.
