ISO gentle and easy to use hair clipper for home cuts for teen/tween boys

Anonymous
We were all due for haircuts this week, but are staying home. Can someone recommend a good, gentle and easy to use hair clipper so I can attempt to cut my tween and teen boys’ hair myself? Would also welcome links to YouTube videos to help me on this first DIY foray.

Here's a thought - leave their hair alone for a couple of weeks. Do most of you with teen boys micromanage their hair?

We use the kit sold by Costco.

Goodness, what were you going to do to them? Please no forceful haircuts! LOL. Just do a YouTube search on how to do a simple man’s haircut. I had to learn when my son was a toddler because he was terrified of the barber. I just went to Walmart and bought clippers that came with a video. I was really bad at it at first but I got better over time and have been cutting my husband and both sons hair ever since. It’s a pain but it’s handy.

I am just going to let my son’s hair grow. He was due for a haircut this week and it grows fast. I highly doubt he would let me touch his hair.

mine will not let me touch his hair. 15 year old.

Teen DS looks so much better with long-ish hair. It’s his father who insists on cropped hair. Thank goodness we can’t do that right now.

My kids need trims too. However, I know my limitations and don’t want to contribute to an awkward family photo down the line.

Apple News has a tutorial today.

Or just shave it all off.

My neighbor bought clippers years ago and has been doing himself all this time after watching some tutorials.

Any chance you have a direct link? The search function for Apple News isn't terribly helpful. I will obviously google, but would love recs for videos that are good.

DH announced this morning that he wants me to trim the sides and back of his hair (he was scheduled to get a cut this week). He has a set clippers with guards (which he uses for his beard).

Thanks!

Gentle hair clipper? Really?

It cuts hair lady. Why does it need to be gentle?

LOL, Lady, clippers are clippers, there's no "gentle" ones. Bwaahaaahaa!

Just make sure you get some gentle scissors too...

Wow. Simple question asked by OP. Where did micromanage come from?
