https://www.propublica.org/article/a-medical-worker-describes--terrifying-lung-failure-from-covid19-even-in-his-young-patients Stay home people. It's not that hard. It is a matter of life and death, including yours. |
| Very scary. That’s one person’s experience from one hospital. Multiply that by the thousands of hospitals we have in the US. We’ll probably surpass Italy in a few weeks. |
| Less than a 2 percent death rate. No need to overhype things. Shame on you. |
| Okay, so maybe all of the patient’s he’s treating don’t die. Does it sound like the rest are thinking it’s no big deal that they have it? Sheesh. |
| Stop overhyping. Yes, there are terrible outlying cases, but this is not the norm. It's crucial to be vigilant, but good grief. |
Overhyping? Have you seen how people are behaving outside? I'm in Dupont and see people out the window strolling in groups with Starbucks in their hands. We need to shut down now. I have lived through very very hard economic times in a very poor country. We didn't have access to 32 types of toothpaste and we ran out of money every month but we took care of each other and lived to see better times. We can all collectively come through the other side of this. The economy will recover. But the number of the dead and disabled will be much higher if we don't ALL get very serious about this NOW, than if we do. |
2% is huge. Would you get on a plane or into a car if you had an 80% chance of merely being very uncomfortable, 18% of being injured to require hospitalization and possibly never fully recover and ONLY a 2% chance of death? Because by not stopping this in its tracks, you're saying we should all just get on that airplane. |
Original. Haven't heard that one before. Thanks for coming out. |
Yes if 80% of the country gets and a 2% death rate..that’s only 5.232 million deaths. That is not even close to the numbers of deaths in WW2. |
No one is over hyping. Do you have a family member on the front lines of this??? There are many many hospitals that do not have the proper medical equiptment for staff or patients. They are already erecting tents. Fed ex field for example. How would you like a hospital stay there? Family members can not go and visit. While I totally understand the economic ramifications if we close down now the economy now we most likely can come out the other side and recover. Dr. Fauci's hand over his face while Trump talked was all we need to understand we are not overreacting. |
What about all the people who will lose their jobs, many of whom already survive on thin margins, children who are going under, immigrants who cannot send remittances, etc, etc. There are many other important considerations. Try to calm down and think rationally. |
The death rate from the virus is only one part of it. I don't understand how people don't see the danger we are all in from overwhelmed hospitals. |

US deaths? |
So? It’s not a contest to see what will kill more people. With a viral outbreak, we can take preventive measures. That should be the take away lesson. |
