That is all. Thanks! |
You can see up a second Venmo account OR change your name to something ridiculous. No way then to trace. |
OP here and I don't have an existing Venmo account. I want to help out a family with two kids under age 2 whose sole breadwinner works in the restaurant industry but I want to do it anonymously.
It sounds like I can set up an account and use something other than my actual name? |
Yes, you can use a different name. You'll have to know the relative's actual Venmo name in order to find them. |
Thanks. I know the person's Venmo name. So, if I create an account and in the "name" fields don't use my own name, but DO use my own email address and bank or credit card account while setting up the account... then the recipient will only see whatever I entered in the "name" fields? |
Can anyone verify this? Couldn't seem to find the info on Venmo's site. |
DP. To be safe I would set up a new email account with the same fake name. For the bank info, I think that is private. However, I would go onto Venmo and do a chat. Explain what you're trying to do. I had problems with my account once, it was complex, but the Venmo chat person got it handled pretty quickly. I think I was actually working with a real person, not a bot. |
If you do the chat, would you post back here? I'm curious and you never know when the knowledge will come in handy! Good luck! |
I’d Venmo a friend they don’t know and have them Venmo the money. |
You are a good, kind person, op! |
Yes, you can send money anonymously on Venmo and CashApp. I gave done it using both. Make sure that under settings allow people to find you by email and phone number is turned off. |
You can use Zelle. I think that goes by cell phone number. |
That’s a good idea |
Apple Cash |
I can see emails so you should make a new one |
