| Well, not really "canceled". but postponed until it is safe to convene again. It's a smart move, but lots of students and parents are going to be sad. |
| UVA, too. |
| If no vaccine until next year, not sure how school can really return to normal until then. The virus will likely advance again if restrictions are lifted. |
Restrictions are about slowing the growth of the spread, not stopping the virus. |
| There won't be any commencement programs at any schools this year. Just start preparing for it now. |
Hence the mention of vaccine. |
I think you fail to understand why there are restrictions now, and why a vaccine (while miraculously beneficial) is not necessary for the restrictions to be lifted. Testing, and testing kits, are far more important so that cases can be identified and quarantined. This will stop the spread. |

well, since they aren't going to be spending big bucks on commencement hopefully they can reimburse families for some of their costs. So are the schools just handing over diplomas based on pre-finals grades as of the beginning of March?
|
I don’t understand the rush to make a final graduation decision in mid March. Delay a few weeks until more is known. I think it’s terrible some have canceled outright. Postponement is a much better option. These students deserve it especially after their time was cut short. At least leave that option open at this point. |
| GU should cancel commencement. |
Have any official announcements been made yet? It is a little soon for that? |
