| Day and sleepaway? Anyone hearing anything?. |
| They need to take their cue from the schools. No school=camp on (assuming that gathering is allowed). Extended school year or gathering warnings =no camp. No decisions will be made until the big decision has been made. |
| I almost feel like sending kids to camp , with young counselors, would be a safe move this summer. Wne we bring them home we quarantine them. |
There are kids who are in hospital right now or had long stays in hospital and are/were on ventilators. You never know if it could be your kid. |
No there are not. No kids have been seriously ill. Most have had mild symptoms and zero kids have died. You're a scare-monger with no information. |
|
There are still going to be people who HAVE to work and their ES age kids won't be able to stay at home alone all day.

Honestly, it's the 18th of March. Schools don't officially get out for three more months. SO much can change between now and then, we just don't know.
I'm *expecting* my kids will go to camp in July and we will take our vacation in August. If we're still locked down then, things have gone really really sideways. For now, all we will do is drive ourselves crazy with what-if's 90 days out. |
| many sleep away camps staff counselors from international destinations. i suspect staffing will be a big issue. |
None under the age of 9 have died. The death rate for 9-18 year olds is roughly 0.1%. So low, but not zero. |
|
I don't know if camps will be on or off come summertime, but I will be pissed as hell if i don't get a refund if they're cancelled or my kids are in regular extended school to make up for lost school days.
