If NYC orders a shelter in place, will DC?

Yes. Especially once they actually begin testing and we see the scope of this.

And then we’ll move up the leader board.

As a reference, the US was at 3700 on Sunday night (March 15). Today (March 17), it’s 6400.

6400 and we don’t test people. Could be 4x that or more.

Today the count is 9,500. 3100 new cases. This is a doubling rate of every two days (amplified as more testing comes online.)

My 88 year old dad is being released from acute care on Monday in New York. Would you travel do you think if I go I'll be able to come back.

Worth the chance. You really should bring him back to DC. An 88 year old man coming out of acute care in NYC won’t last long without help. I would drive, and bring latex gloves, mask, and Purell. Plus snacks and water. No stopping accept for gas. No public restrooms - pee on the side of road

By Saturday or Sunday we will be shelter in place

The District’s elected attorney general just called for a shelter in place order here. That power resides with Mayor Bowser who will address public tomorrow morning

DC just ordered the closure of non-essential businesses as of 19pm on march 25 (through April 24).

Pretty late to take action......typical incompetent DC government.

Does this apply to independent schools?

Do you honestly think that an independent school is going to act "independently" on this issue? ha.
