On day 3 of period, but temps still elevated

My temps have yet to go down after ovulation. However, I am having my period - I am actually on my third day. I don't think this is implantation bleeding just because what I have read about implantation bleeding is that it is brown/pink and is a very small amount. I am having enough flow to have to wear a tampon and I have seen red blood at points during my 3 days. Why hasn't my temp dipped yet??

This is annoying b/c I had already gone through the bummed out phase of this cycle and am ready to start a new cycle of trying. I do not want to take a pregnancy test just to show a negative. I had already moved on and not I just want my temp to drop!!!

how long have you been charting? do you normally see a drop before now? I know that I usually get a partial drop right before it starts, but I tend to not return to the pre-ovulatory temps until about day 5 of the new cycle.

OP here. Thanks for the input PP. I normally drop on day 2 of my cycle. My temp is normally still elevated on CD1, but by day 2 it's down. I think I found my answer today though. I spiked up to 99.3 ( a full degree higher from my post-ovulatory temps!). I am sick as a dog. Home from work today and I haven't been this sick in awhile. Maybe my elevated temps were just gearing me up for being sick? Oh well - I did take a pg test today just to make sure I could take all the good meds today and it told me what I already knew based on my period - BFN.
