New to Zoom -- Do I need to register or can I just "Join a Meeting"

| I'm new to Zoom conferencing software that I'll be using for work and school. It is installed on my Macbook OK, I think. The opening screen gives me a choice to "Join a Meeting" or register. Can I just join a meeting or do I need to register also? Is there an advantage to registering? |

If you register you can have the same meeting ID every time which makes it easy for your acquaintances
I think zoom is free right now so there’s really no disadvantage |
