Soccer for 4YO girl - DC?

Our DD loves kicking a ball around. We are DC/Shaw residents. How/where do we do lessons/leagues this spring or summer. Nothing in her DCPS for her age. Thanks!

Just go kick the ball with her. She is way to young for formal lessons. Kids at that age just like running around and playing with their parents. If she still into it in 3rd grade ask around at that point.

So much this! I am certain you will find several organizations happy to take your money. However, if you want your child to continue to love soccer, just play with her in the back yard. No formal programs/training necessary, unless you want her to be miserable and quit in a few short years.

When this covid action is over, buy some small goals and set them up in your yard in front of your house. See if you can attract some neighborhood kids to come over and play, too. Awesome if you can get a little group together.

Read the book, "Soccer Starts at Home" by Tom Byer. He helped create the nationwide youth soccer movement in Japan and has been tapped to help the US do the same thing.

This is a great idea.

Beyond that, I'd say just keep kicking the ball back and forth with her. It's good parent/child time, much like playing catch in the front yard or street.

Maybe a league this Fall/winter when everything gears up again, but I'd hold off on lessons for a while, IMHO.
