I want to buy a dress and don't know where to shop

Anonymous
I am looking for a cocktail length or maybe even floor length dress for a special occasion this spring. It will be an evening event. And, with three kids, my shopping excursions to buy things for me haven't gone beyond Macy's on a lunchtime outing when I am out of pantyhose. I live in the Metropolitan DC area. Can you help me?

I always find great dresses at Lord & Taylor.

I second Lord & Taylor for dresses.

I actually found a great cocktail dress at JC Penney before Christmas. Who knew?

For a splurge, I've always had luck at Saks.

Bloomingdales online, if you know your size.

Jcrew online. Get several sizes and return those that don't work to the store.

Here is a third vote for Lord and Taylor...I always have good luck with the dress section at Tysons.

The last cocktail dress I bought (evening summer wedding) was a flattering loose silk affair at arden b. (on sale for $90). I love it!

The dress section at Tysons' Lord & Taylor DWARFS all other stores. Dont' waste your time at any other L & T - go straight to Tyson's.
