End of lice?

Could we use this virus and social distancing to end lice? If everyone who has it uses the next 4-6 weeks to treat seriously, and kids have no contact with others in school, we would end lice, right?

Amused that I am not the only one who has pondered this.

Same. Daughter has free flowing hair where we usually braid up and bun. Don't have to worry about lice if nobody's mingling!

Or, take care of your own kids hair and stop putting the responsibility on others. We've never had an issue with lice, not even once. Wash nightly and use fairy tales or other tree oil products.

So true. I am in.

We haven’t had it either and don’t use those products.

Mom of teens.

Wow, so condescending. We never had it either, not even once, until suddenly we did. Despite nightly washing and Fairy Tales. So maybe you're just lucky.

No, we aren't lucky, we are careful. We do gel and hairspray every morning. Shower every night.

Wow. Even as an avid and faithful DCUMer, I am somewhat shocked that someone would be against ending lice. And I know that is not what the pp said - they said it was a personal parenting failure of mine to have ever had it. But even if that is true, as someone who self reports having to comb, gel, wash, and maintain, wouldn’t it be great if lice ended because of this pandemic? Everyone listen to pp and take painstaking measures the next four weeks we are quarantined and everyone will benefit. Not sure why that couldn’t be celebrated by all posters. Seems like a great by product.

Hooray! Brilliant thought. One of the silver linings.

Showering doesn’t help. You got lucky.

You think all those kids with live just had dirty homes and bad hygiene? You don’t know what you’re talking about.

I was thinking that if the whole world sat tight for four weeks, we might end the common cold. I taught during Snowmaggedon, and not one kid was sick for an entire month after we came back.

Imagine what this will do to curb the spread of bed bugs if no one is traveling or staying in hotels!
