Summer activities for 1 year old in Chevy Chase, DC or Dupont Circle

DD will be around 1 this summer and I am looking for some activities to get her involved in during the day while I am at work. My mother watches her and doesn't drive so it needs to be walkable or metro accessible. I am thinking music classes, etc.

Any thoughts or ideas?
