Public schools are closed but they will use spring break as makeup days. How about your daycare? My kid’s daycare is closed starting tomorrow till 3/27 and they will still have spring break from 4/6-13. Isn’t it unfair for parents? |
Sounds fair to me. People make plans ahead of time for scheduled breaks. |
If situation is already so bad so schools have to close, why people still travel for vacation? Shouldn’t parents cancel all the travel plans? This is state of emergency! People should not travel!! |
No, it's not. At my daycare, spring break is available and it's considered "spring camp" for additional fees. I would be annoyed if we have to pay for the next two weeks and they are closed, AND come spring break, I need to pay again to send my kids in for camp. |

Oh. Honey. No one is going to use Spring Break as make up days. They are just giving us the news in small bites so we can take it. This is going to be very, very bad, and this "unfairness" will be the last thing on your mind. |
My daycare, like many daycares, runs year-round and doesn't have any "breaks" besides holidays and teacher-in-service days. I suppose they could try to do teacher-in-service through some online courses and take one or two of those off the calendar.
My kids' elementary school and preschool do have a spring break scheduled for Passover, but it's a Jewish school and they won't do make-up days during the holiday anyway. I don't expect any makeup days from anyone, although if school was willing to do makeup days in the summer, I would totally take that. |
