I am starting my first FET, and I'm at CFA. I read that at SGF and other clinics the process starts with birth control for about 3 weeks, then Estrace for about 2 weeks, then PIO or progesterone suppositories. My protocol at CFA is Estrace for 11 days, then I go in for a lining check, then if all is good progesterone for 5 days, then transfer. *Has anyone done a FET with no birth control?*

| I did. I was at SGF. I specifically asked for a cycle without birth control, because I'd started having aural migraines every time I was put on them. I got a tiny bit of grief over the cycle being harder to schedule for them (since timing was based on day 1 of my cycle and I have PCOS, so that is never a sure thing), but it wasn't a big deal. |
| My understanding is that the BC before a FET is used primarily to control the cycle, and not necessarily because it is related to the outcome of the FET itself. The outcome is related to your lining and hormone levels at the time of transfer, which is controlled with the estrogen and progesterone medications. |
| I did an FET at CFA on February 18. Protocol was what you described. I'm 5 weeks + 6 days today! |
OP here - thanks everyone. And congrats, PP! |
