Can anyone recommend a large baby doll (similar to American Girl) that doesn’t cost 60 dollars? Our daughter will be a big sister this fall and we want to get her a large baby doll and accessories to help her prepare and get excited about being a big sister. She found the American Girl catalogue they just sent us (I think they started sending them just after she was born) and picked one out but I don’t think she will notice if we get her one that is different. Thanks! |
Check out the Target brand Our Generation. The dolls are typically under $30. |
Target has great baby like ones, too. My kids have always been more into the accessories, and there’s an entire section at target. |
CVS has these tall dolls for $20 |
I like the target dolls, and they have some good accessory choices, too. |
Target. My 6.5 year old thinks she has an american girl doll. They are very similar.

We like Corelle baby dolls, though we do have an AG Bitty Baby, too. |
I think OP means a baby doll, like bitty baby.
OP, check out Target or Walmart or even Amazon. There are lots of great options. Corelle dolls are nice, but others are cheaper. |
Corelle |
How old is your DD? I found bitty baby to be too big so curious why you specifically want a large one. My DD loved her Melissa and Doug baby dolls from age 1 to 6 or 7. Now she prefers the big girl dolls. Bitty baby has always been largely ignored. |
My girls have baby dolls - we have a Corolle and a Melissa & Doug version of the Corolle. I prefer the M&D one. My 7 year old thinks it's really weird that her Corolle doll still smells like vanilla.
If you want a girl doll - Our Generation is the best. |
Thanks for the suggestions! |
The Homegoods at Baileys Crossroads had Corelle babies in a package with accessories like feeding sets for like $30-40, which is a great deal for all the pieces. |
