What does the tooth fairy do with all the teeth?

I was asked this today and I haven't been able to come up with a good answer. Kid just brought up writing the tooth fairy letter next time, so now i have to come up with something better than "I don't know!". The things I've found on google aren't going to fly with my child (last week, we read a book about the big bang theory, so "she turns the teeth into stars" not so much). Other things just sound dumb - she grinds teeth into fairy dust? she uses them to build a castle? wtf?). Any other good suggestions?

I KNOW this is a silly question, don't tear me a new one, please!

Op, if your child is “with it” enough to know that “building a castle” with the teeth is ridiculous, than maybe it’s time to spill the beans about the tooth fairy.

And it cracks me up that you are teaching about the Big Bang theory but also trying to keep up the tooth fairy facade.

My kid found my stash of collected teeth so I told her the tooth fairy sells them back to the parents - that’s how the tooth fairy makes the money it leaves for kids’ teeth.

How do reindeer fly and pull a heavy sled? How can Santa visit billions of houses in one night? Where does the Easter Bunny get zillions of eggs? Shouldn’t it be an Easter Chicken?

These things are magical because we can’t explain them.

Or you can tell her that dentures for old people are made out of kids’ discarded baby teeth.

I just said she uses them like money in her world so that why she trades our currency for hers. I don't keep any teeth. Could you imagine going off to college or getting married and having your mother present you with a Ziploc bag of old baby teeth? "Here you go, darling, enjoy the nostalgia!"
