Virus = more uncertainty = record waitlists

Word has it waitlists will be like 2008. All time records. Will be very annoying. But with all of the international students now being uncertain.. they’ll keep a ton of kids around just in case.

uh - can you offer more details?

Waitlists haven’t exactly been small ever, so not sure why 2008 is mentioned?

"Like 2008..."

Am I the only one that doesn't really know what that means?

2008 was more than a decade since my college days, and my own kids were still in early elementary in 2008...so I really wasn't paying attention to college wait lists...

The financial crisis/Wall Street/recession loans etc. Many people lost their shirts...

Work has it is not enough? How about “they say” instead?

And that affected the college wait lists?

2008 was a whole different everything in college admissions. It was a lot easier to get into schools, most still had mail out decisions, kids didn’t apply to as many, costs were half..... 2008 vs 2020 is apples and oranges. Hard to compare

I would think the stock market tanking would also be contributing to uncertainty. Paying the high pricetags seems a little harder for savings compromised for many.

You must be missing a few apples and oranges. Uncertainty equals higher waitlist numbers. And duh. Did you happen to catch the stock market crash? Uncertain enrollment from International students and a shaky economy equal a huge waitlist. Duh
