Best Showcases

What are the best girl showcases for players who aspire to plat mid to major college soccer?

it seems that many of the local showcases don't attract the top college soccer programs. I understand that ECNL and DA are the best route for players who want to play at the highest level but what about girls on very competitive non-ECNL/DA teams? Where do they find the showcases that attract the coached from the top programs?

I would suggest targeted ID camps instead.

This is for a U16 team as it prepares for the 2020-21 year.

I think CASL and Jeff Cup are good showcase opportunities.

step 1. go to their summer ID camp
step 2. be better than everyone else

no showcases needed.

Misleading and not nearly enough.

ID camps can get your kid on the radar but it doesn?t demonstrate a players ability against true game pressure.

OP here. Can we please focus on showcase recommendations? We a re focused on our. Players and parents are doing ID camps on their own.

If I look at the college programs attending ECNL showcases, they are much more stronger than those attending JefCup or Bethesda.

The problem is bracket placement. If you can get in one of the top 2, maybe 3 brackets, sure. In Jeff cup terms, you need to be at West Creek or River City. If you are in Jeff Cup and not in that placement (and especially not at those fields, and check to see where the top bracket is playing to see what I mean vs the bottom brackets), you are on Fantasy Island as far as scouts are concerned.

That's where things like the DA showcases having all the games and teams at one field is helpful. Scouts will walk by and stop at games of lower teams if they are already there. They really don't want to go driving from field to field.

People keep saying ID camps because for non-DA/non-ECNL teams, it's so much harder to get seen. Jeff Cup and CASL are the best, if you can get into a high enough bracket, but it's very political. I've seen some very good teams get hosed because of that.

Side bar, but with the DA (even boys side, which has been around for a while), I don't why Jeff Cup and CASL don't add on DA brackets. And yes, some of the clubs would attend.

+1. Seems like an easy way to attract a lot of quality teams, since there are not that many tournaments that do it.

CASL does it for the DA pilot ages on the girls side. I believe DA is closed at the mandatory ages for tournaments per DA regulations and this is why it isn?t done.

That is your answer. ECNL and DA events attract the better programs form Mid Majors on up. Showcases like Jeff Cup simply attract more regional schools.

People are telling you to attend ID camps because the showcases and likely brackets that your team will be in will simply not be attended by many mid-major programs.

Actually it's not if the tournament observes DA rules (no more than 1 game per day and no more than 2 games in a row). Sometimes, our DA schedules showcases that have DA brackets because of that. Texas has a DA appropriate showcase. VDA's conforms as well, as does Penn Fusion's.

While this is true, these two showcases are about as good as there is around here. Not as good as an ECNL or DA showcase, dominated by regional schools, and dependent on where/when you play, they are still have pretty good exposure. Delco and PennFusion are a couple of others to consider, but others may have more info on these in terms of coach attendance.

OP

Thanks for the helpful comments.

Also, we are a team of parents and parents who understand the landscape. We understand the role of ID Camps. We are just trying to cover our basis as it relates to showcases.

Are there other showcases outside of the area that attract programs from across the nation. For example, is Disney worth the travel?
