I just read this in another thread. Is this accurate/customary in the DC area?

I am currently in a share and the other family hosts. They didn’t ask for a discount. I’ve never even heard of this.

No. The convenience of having the share at your house is balanced out by the inconvenience of additional wear and tear. It all evens out in the end.
