I feel I'm in a rut with my current makeup routine. Does anyone have a recommendation for a place where I can have someone show me how to apply makeup.
I'm willing to pay or buy some products but don't want to spend an outrageous amount of money on this. |

OP, you have a choice. A makeup counter where the artist may or may not have training and has a quota on how much they need to sell. They will apply it but won't teach you how.
There are also places like Sephora - hit or miss with the talent and amount of time they have for you but at least have access to a number of cosmetic lines. Then there are independent makeup artists who come to you, can edit what you have, devise a new system for you, and teach you how to do it. The good ones don't sell products and charge an hourly rate. They can recommend a number of different products for you to use. Any preference? |
| I always considered my makeup skills average to mediocre, but to save time and money needed to do my own makeup for my wedding. I made an appointment at the Bobbi Brown counter at Neiman Marcus. The lady there picked out great colors for me and showed me how to apply them, and I was able to do my own wedding makeup based on that lesson (and lots of practice). I did spend a lot because I bought almost everything, but I didn't have to. For the amount of time she spent (an hour) I do feel it was right to make a substantial purchase though. Good luck! |
