Do people think this is really true?

| Yes, I think it’s true. |
|
Anyone who has ever reported a crime in DC could tell you this.
|
| This is infuriating, that a city (my city) so high on the holy horse about restricting gun ownership routinely lessons charges for crimes with weapons. Which is it? |
| They especially do it for hate crimes . All those women stabbed and murdered in race based hate crimes they never are prosecuted as such |
The city government doesn't prosecute crimes. The office of the AUSA-DC handles that, aka run by the DOJ. At least pretend to understand how criminal justice works in DC before you pretend to be a DC resident as a cover for pushing pro-gun talking points. The MPD fudges the stats at the direct of the Mayor in deference to her real estate developer cronies. They want to keep property prices high and the tax rolls overflowing. |
| The point pp is that all the stats get fudged and criminals get revolving doors. Its disconcerting on every level. If the mayor and council cared they would call for action to stamp it out wherever it occurs |
| Democrats |
| Yes of course it’s true. I thought it was common knowledge. |
Politicians. If you think the folks on the other side of the aisle don't do that shit you are the epitome of ignorance. |
+1 Anyone who has ever reported a crime can attest to this. |
| DC isn't the only place that does this. Last spring, Justice Department prosecutors were on the verge of charging biotech giant Monsanto with a felony for illegally spraying a banned, highly toxic pesticide and nerve agent in Hawaii, not far from beachside resorts on Maui. But then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein stepped in and directed federal prosecutors to resolve the Monsanto criminal case with misdemeanors only. Y'all thinking small - do you know how often white collar felony crimes get downgraded to misdemeanors or how often large corporations commit felony offenses that quietly get downgraded to misdemeanors? |
| Every city does this. |
| That doesn't make it OK, on any level. |
Omg, I need to report a crime but can't because of my safety and the safety of my family. Good for her! I reported mine to Allen also, and Mary Cheh. I'll do it publicly after I move and hide. |
