| Sooo.... I have been working with a personal trainer since January. It's the first time that I am using one. And he is constantly on his phone texting. Is this normal? It really bothers me. He does put the phone away to tell me about my next exercise, but as soon as I am doing the reps, the phone comes out again. Would you find it unprofessional or do you think it's not a big deal. |
I would find someone else. He should be watching you and giving corrections/feedback as needed. |
Unless he's using his phone for notes or as part of your training (logging exercises, progress, etc), then it's totally unprofessional and rude. I would complain to him, if not his superior. |
Nope, he is just texting. I really don't mind a text here and there, but I am annoyed that he is doing it all the time. There are always a couple of minutes between clients where he cab catch up on his texts. I think I will just find someone else. |

Completely unprofessional. If you just wanted someone telling you a workout you could use an app.
A good trainer should be correcting your form and giving you feedback as you do an exercise. You’re not paying him to text. |
| Awful. I worked with a great trainer for 2 years and she only texted if it was an urgent matter, and always was quick about it. And always apologized for doing so. Maybe happened 2-3 times over 2 years? Your trainer is completely unprofessional. |
| Wow, so disrespectful. I would switch and specifically request a trainer who doesn't spend my sessions on their phone. |
| Absolutely not. Trainers in my gym get fired for that. |
