SUV with 3rd row leg room for teen

Anonymous
Slowly starting the new car search. Will be getting rid of a 2007 small crossover SUV. We have two kids (4 and 2) and plan to have a third in the next 1/2 years. What SUV has best 3rd row leg room?

We are set on captains seats, and drive our cars for ever, so looking ahead to having a 10-14 year olds who will be using that third row daily. I recently drove a friends Toyota Highlander and was shocked how small the third row was. It seemed like a tight fit, even for my (tall) 4 year old! My parents have an older Tahoe, and the third row of that isn’t great either (plus no captains seats in middle)

Any advice? Have a car with great leg room?.....other than minivan...my husband really just won’t go there....

You are going to have three kids in car seats. Just buy the dang minivan. Tell your DH that literally no one notices or cares what a lame middle aged dad drives around.

Not a popular choice on DCUM, but check out Dodge Durango.

I'm a dad who just bought his second Sienna. It's such a good, practical car.

I was anti minivan before I had kids. Now IDGAF. Why would I?

What you're looking for is a minivan. Third rows in SUVs are all tiny. We're car searching now. Like pp mentioned, I like the Sienna too, and I am so excited to switch from a small SUV to a minivan.

3 kids equals a minivan. It just does. Only other option would be a suburban.

Ford Expedition. We drove them all, and this one won in a landslide in terms of third row room for an suv.

We had a Pilot and a teenager and the third row is a tight fit. We recently bought a Highlander and same issue.

Even the Suburban does not have as much room in the third row as a minivan.

Subaru ascent is pretty good, much better than the highlander.

It’s called a minivan.

Kia Telluride has a good sized 3rd row. But if I had 3 kids, I would def get a mini-van, no question.

I would not e left any car you buy in 2020 to last 14 years. With three kids, you need a minivan.
