My kid broke his invisalign braces

Anonymous
Hey,
My 12-year-old son fell down and broke his invisalign braces.
He was playing soccer and this happened. The coach suddenly took him to the ER and they dressed his wounds and stopped the bleeding.

He got the braces just two months ago from a dental office specialized in Invisalign treatment. So I'm going to take him there.
But I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Is it possible to repair broken braces?
Or do I have to spend money getting another one?

If anyone had a similar experience please share your insights.
Thanks in advance.

You have to get new ones. If they are treatment trays I'd be surprised if the replacement was expensive. The retainers were around $200 for a set at my ortho's.

What actually broke? If it’s an invisiline tray, it wouldn’t be a big deal. My daughter has a new one each week. They say to keep the previous week’s so if you lose one, you can use the old one. You may be able to skip right to the next one.
If it’s the little brackets they apply to your teeth to help apply the pressure, they will fix those - no extra charge. My daughter had brackets fall off multiple times and they just put new ones on.

They shouldn't charge you anything to get additional trays. More than likely if it was the tray that broke, they'll tell him to just go ahead and put in the next set. Those trays just break from time to time, totally not a big deal.

My orthodontist would probably say to just move on to his next set. We usually switch out about every two weeks anyway.

We switch every week. We would move to next tray or use an old one. We keep 1 or 2 old ones for this reason.
