Parenting -- Special Concerns
|
The search begins. We are the AA lesbian parents of an AA/Biracial boy. As the tour season approaches, we're targeting schools that are welcoming/inclusive of children w/same-sex parents, and diversity.
Any suggestions? We would be entering Kindergarden. I'd like to hear some of your experiences. Thanks. |
| The tour season for this coming academic year (2010/11) is pretty much over. WHat year are you looking for k enrollment? Most if not all deadlines for applications have passed or will pass by next week. |

| st andrews in clifton is not friendly i hope your talking about another school. |
| My son goes to McLean School of Maryland. This is his first year there. It's a great school. My son is doing well and is happy. We are treated like any other parents and have not had any issues or concerns. Every parent I have meet so far speaks highly of the school and I am seeing why. It's a good fit for our son and we are glad we made the choice to send him there. |

Haven't you seen the ads from schools who had your own special open-house day? |
| Grace Episcopal Day School in Silver Spring is an extremely inclusive, diverse place. They are still accepting applications. |
I second this recommendation. They really walk the talk. |
