Petitioning for out of boundary school

I am sure this has been covered before.

We would like to petition for our son to attend a school out of boundary, but actually closer to our house (a different cluster).

How does this work? What is the timing? If anyone reading this is truly "in the know" what are the reasons people's requests are accepted?

I don't know, but you might have more luck posting to the appropriate VA public schools or MD public schools forum. No one can tell from your post what jurisdiction you are in. You're asking for pretty specific instructions in the General Discussion forum.
