Anyone ever go from an SUV/crossover back to a normal car (coupe/sedan)?

I got a sedan loaner from the dealership and it's so scary how you can't see anything! Left turns are so scary and even things like looking for kids at pick up and trying to find a parking spot are far more challenging. I honestly don't think I could ever go back to driving like this.

When you say that it's scary how you can't see anything - you mean, like this?

Yes and I regret buying the crossover now. I much prefer cars

We have an SUV and a mid-sized sedan, and both have different blindspots. We drive each other's vehicles at least once a week, and I don't feel like one is scarier than the other - just different.

I don’t know one person who drives a sedan. They seem so passé.

We drive a crossover and are strongly considering a sedan for our next car. The kids are getting bigger and we want a larger vehicle but the gas mileage is horrible on mid-size SUVs and there aren’t many hybrid lines available. The few times we’ve rented a sedan I did find myself struggling to see from being lower to the ground. Hopefully it just takes some getting used to.

This poster is correct, many auto manufacturers are eliminating their sedan lines. Interestingly I asked my 8 year old what looks like a “mom car” to him and he pointed out SUVs, so maybe the tide will change eventually

We have a sedan and a crossover. Hate the crossover, love the sedan -- as does my 17-year-old son. The sedan is far more comfortable.

Me! I love it. Drives more zippy, easier to park, feels more in control on really windy days. I don't think I can go back to a SUV. Maybe visibility depends on your particular car, but I have no issues. SUVs are like giant tanks now.

I can see more pedestrians and people behind me in my sedan than I can in my dh's suv. I much prefer the sedan.

I have a Honda Pilot. I hate it vehemently would much prefer a Toyota Prius. It’s soooo big, it’s hard to drive sometimes . I am keeping it as a punishment and reminder not to make rash decisions when buying a car. Oh, and it has many blind spots.

Hopefully the trend will be towards smaller, energy efficient cars and non-hybrid/electric SUVs will start to look embarrassing. I'm short and love driving SUVs, plus we do some long haul family trips a few times a year, but we're biting the bullet getting a sedan.

I am shocked at how much we can fit in the trunk of our new sedan, I think we are going to be taking it on our next road trip

This post has got me thinking maybe my next car will be a 5 Series sedan to replace my aging X5. Interesting I seem to almost have forgotten about sedans! Will test drive to see if I can do it. I recall my shoulder always hit the entry part of roof when crouching to get in the sedan and I’m not particularly tall.

I love my sedan! I like how it drives, how I’m closer to the road, and I love being able to put things in the trunk. I can see just fine. And contrary to what many think, a sedan is safer than many SUVs as long as you get one with enough weight so it won’t be demolished by someone’s giant land yacht.
