Acura MDX or Toyota Highlander

Currently have a 2015 MDX with 67,000 miles that I would like to hand down to my teenagers to drive. Looking for new car for myself.
Have read about recent complaints with the new MDX model. Thinking about the top end Highlander (Platinum).
Anyone have experience with these two cars or suggestions.

Ha, I have a Highlander and thinking of getting an MDX. The Highlander has been good for us. I’ve had it for nine years and have had ZERO problems with it. I’m bored with mine and want a change, but overall it’s been fine.

I looked at the Highlander Platinum last summer, so haven’t seen the interior of the 2020, but I thought the interior just wasn’t impressive for me for a car with close to a $50k msrp. Makes sense, I suppose, as that’s the point of moving up to Lexus. I went with the Ascent because the top tier interior seemed much nicer (and it had apple CarPlay).

I also liked the MDX interior, but recent reliability seems off and the dealer is too far from me (I’m lazy and service at the dealer).

The MDX is getting a full redesign soon, I believe next model year. I would hold off if possible if that is your choice.

We have a 2009 MDX; it's been a great car and haven't had any problems.

Just checked. Redesign is coming for 2021 model year, so release date should be latter part of this year.

Highlander. MDX has been junk recently.

We recently test drove the 2020 Highlander and it is fine but agree the interior does not feel that impressive. The odd thing was there is no way to adjust the height of the driver seat - seemed odd.

We were in a similar boat last summer and ended up getting the Lexus RX350. The had to move the 2019 inventory so we got $7K off MSRP. Ended up being somewhere around $52K all in. When we haggled on the Highlander Platinum we were still in the $48K range. For us the ~$4K difference was worth it for the nicer interior etc,

Agree about mdx, but pilot on highlander.

Are you interested in getting a hybrid? If so, get the Highlander. The Hybrid only comes in the Limited edition.
