watching shows in another language

Is there any harm to this? DS is 2yr 2 months and doesn't get screens, but for various reasons, I'd be willing to give him a little screen time if it had the added benefit of a new language. But is that going to screw with him learning english? I've studied Italian and Spanish (the former more than the latter, though I'm working on it) but while I can understand it when I hear it and read it, I can't really speak it. But I think if the tv is on in one of those languages, it will help me as well, and in turn I could maybe start speaking in basic Italian or Spanish from time to time with him. I understand he will not become fluent this way, and that's not really what I'm after, but I figure picking up a bit of a second language couldn't hurt--unless you tell me it could?

It won't hurt, and it won't help.

Absolutely no harm and will definitely help. Hearing shows in French even improved my French!

And it’s so easy to do with either French or Spanish since most kid shows and movies are available in all three languages.
