| I have a rising u12 girl who likes soccer and is good but wants to change from her current pre-ECNL team. The two teams she likes best- one is EDP and one is NCSL. Any difference in league play? |
Well D1 EDP teams are much stronger than NCSL D1 teams. However, that doesn't mean that one team is better for your daughter than the other. EDP D1 is usually very competitive. You can get some blow out in NCSL D1. So please continue to research the coach, the players, the team, where your daughter fit in with the team, the parent behavior on the sideline, etc and now rely on the league at least not at this age. |
| I also have a pre-DA team girl wants to try EDP or NCSL, have same question. Thank you, |
| The best team for your player is so much more than in which league the teams plays. There are many many divisions in both leagues so hard to say which is better without knowing the teams. I’d suggest looking at the other teams in the division for the specific teams, and see how far away will games be and how is the competition. But still I would pay way more attention to the coach and player fit on the team than the league |
| would recommend staying with ecnl/da if you can |
No need at U12. |
What’s the travel like at u13? I know BSC u12 travel like a pro team. |
DA and ECNL (including in the case of BSC ECNL2) teams have to travel long distances for away games. |
| If your kids is on a pre ECNL or DA team and you don’t know about EDP or NCSL, you are the problem. You are inflating the cost. |
|
More important are the coach of the specific team you will move to, facilities and practice location. What good is the best league if the coach is abusive or the club does not have enough field space? |
Or your team has poor behavior or parents are sideline coaching... Check ALL of the environment you are looking into. |
THIS IS THE WORST. |
U12 is not DA or ECNL. The pre- ecnl u12 travels the same as the ENCL teams(4 hrs one way with the traffic gods on your side). This is a lot for u12. |
