Age gap dating

I’m 36 and just started dating a 27 year old guy. I like him but the age thing is throwing me off plus my gut keeps telling me something isn’t right... Is it just the age difference or possibly something else? Any woman date a guy almost ten years younger with success?

Depends what success means to you? I don’t think it would work out as long term marriage. At 40 + your looks will go down hill by a lot, while his will be the same or better. If you get a long great, you could probably have a nice relationship for <5 yrs, but the age difference will likely cause some issues once you really start to show your age and go through menopause

OP it may be that he doesn't take you seriously as a long term partner possibility and you are sensing that.

A lot of these guys are very deeply conventional about who they want to marry. And its normally women of the same age or younger. Especially in the US.

A good friend of mine married a guy 10 years younger. She is now 52 and he is 42. She looks younger than him. His looks went downhill rapidly.

FWIW, I am 47F and would data 10 years older and 10 years younger. But I have kids so less pressure on that aspect.

That seems like a strong possibility. It might be a good idea to assess whether you have the same long-term goals.
