Any movie theaters that are better for birthdays?

Thinking of doing my son’s birthday at a movie theater. Prefer to eat and watch a movie. Do any theaters offer a party package with a party room? We have never been to a party at the movies.

The most DC thing ever is having a birthday at the Avalon in Chevy Chase. You get a private theater, child's name on the outside marquee and you bring the movie you want to screen. I forget how much is costs but the kicker is it's a 501c so the cost of the party is tax deductible.

Yes, I've been to one here for my kid's classmate. We'd considered doing it for our kid too; I don't recall it being very expensive. However, kid wanted a smaller bday party, so we ended up just driving a few friends to the nearby movie theater, followed by cake in our backyard.

University mall theater in Fairfax has a party room. They show second-run movies so it might be a cheaper option than most.

We did movie at the AMC at Tyson's mall and then went to the TGI Friday's next door. Table was reserved and they let us bring in our own cake and balloons. They even put the cake in in their walk-in, so logistics were easy.
