Jump start weight loss vacation

Please help DD 19 and me find a week long destination to focus on healthy eating, exercise and relaxation techniques. We have had a rough year and will look forward to a week away in May to get back to the basics. DD has gained a solid 15 lbs at college and wants to reestablish the healthy mindset to begin losing the weight and practice healthy eating. (She is aware of what she needs to be doing now as well.) I have a vague recollection of an AZ spa destination but would love to hear the DCUM feedback.

Miraval is the AZ resort. It's very expensive, but I have heard great things about it.

I have dreams of doing this at a vegetarian/yoga retreat center.

Check out places in Tulum for that .

Mountain Trek in BC is the best. Not sure they are open in May.

Canyon Ranch is okay. I prefer Rancho La Puerta.

How much money do you have to spend?

I went to Canyon Ranch in AZ with my sister last year. We had a wonderful time, and though it was pricey, it was worth it.

Red Mountain Resort in Utah.

I have seen people rave about Movarra (no personal experience). Think it's in Utah?

I've been to Miraval in AZ and newer one in TX. Both destinations are relaxing and mindful but not really weight loss focused. But left feeling very relaxed!!!

Like PP, I have been to both Miraval locations in the past year and do recommend it for your needs. The food is healthy and reasonable portions, with clear calorie counts and nutritional values. But more so, it is about overall wellness, with plenty of classes for fitness and getting in the right mindset. It would be a great way to jumpstart a holistic wellness journey, including fitness and weightloss..

Oh come on, everyone experiences the "freshman 30." No one need to freak out.
