New york lawyer or elder care advocate?

Can anyone refer me to a lawyer or advocate in NYC for making choices about elderly mother with dementia -- estate, commitment, etc.? Thank you.

If all else fails, look for someone affiliated with the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys ("NAELA").

OP, I don't know anyone in NYC. However, I can recommend the firm who has been invaluable in managing estate and long-term care planning for my parents north of NYC.

I would expect that they would have some referral ideas for you in the NYC area (if they can't help themselves.) They've been tremendously helpful and responsive with us.
