Ideas to fix/restore

Anonymous
We bought kitchen stools a year or more that are similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Rivet-Mid-Century-2-Pack-No-Back-Stools/dp/B075ZBW1NL but they are covered in fabric. At the time, I knew this was a bad idea due to the stools being in the kitchen. I did it anyway.

So, since then, due to a variety of factors to include kids and cats (who like to play and nap on them and thus have clawed them) I'd like to see if there is a way to recover them. I think I could do them myself with a pattern (I can sew). Anyone know where I can find one? I've tried w/o success. I could take on apart and try to recreate it but I worry about doing that and (bleeping it all up).

I really don't want to buy all new stools - not b/c of the money but b/c it seems wasteful, esp. if I can fix it myself. I'd use a bit of a more durable fabric than the ones they came with. Thanks.

Maybe this should be in the crafting forum? Not sure.
Thanks!

Go to pinterest and youtube and search there for directions. You will find a zillion tutorials. Look for the demo closest to your style.

Do you want to reupholster them or make fabric slipcovers for them? I know youtube has tutorials for upholstery. I would think you'd have to create something on your own for slipcovers.

Won't the kids and the cats do a number on the new fabric coverings like they did on the old?

They might, but if I can learn to cover or reupholster them, I can switch them out again. Also the fabric they came with wasn't particularly durable so I'd go with something else.
