My son is going on an 8th grade trip next week and it's suggested that he bring his student ID. I don't think he was ever issued one - is anyone aware of how to get one at this point in the year? Or, is his student ID his DC One card?
Thanks in advance! |
| Have student go to the office tomorrow and ask. |
| DC One Card is his student ID. |
This. I think most people forgot about DC One Cards once the KRF metro cards became available. |
| KRF cards don’t have pictures. What options are available for students under 16 who need ID? |
As PP said, a DC One card. These are still available, they just don't load KRF benefits onto them anymore. |
| That said, regular fares and passes can still be loaded on DC One cards. I am adult and I use mine. My son has finished HS and he uses his still. We have other metro cards, but like to use these in case they get lost. |

Students have to get DC One cards from the designated DC One card administrator at their school. It is easy, but can take a few days.

DC One cards are no longer being issued, for anyone curious -- I wanted my kid to get one this year but the school sent out a notice about the discontinuation.
